Studies on the Physiological Activity of Duchesnea indicae Herba

Abstract
|
|
|
The antibacterial activity of Duchesnea indicae Herba against the four species bacteria was observed.: E. coli, B. subtilis, S. aureus, A. niger.
The effects of Duchesnea indicae Herba on the growth of bacterial cells were variable depending upon the species of bacterium.
Of the Duchesnea indicae Herba extracts, Ether and Hexane soluble fraction have been shown positive results for antimicrobial test, particularly 2 preparative substances (Rf. 0.81, 0.68) of Hexane soluble fraction.
Thin layer chromatograms of Hexane soluble fraction, which was positive in N-KOH, FeCl_3, Pb(AC)_2 T.S. and Liebermann-Burchard reaction revealed 6,7,8 and 4 spots respectively.
